Sector federations are often dealing with diverse members. Because of that, they have always been confronted with a rather conservative image. Yet, change is underway, with more and more federations taking up the challenge to guide members towards sustainable practises.
This challenge involves developing a sustainability vision for the sector, promoting sustainable practises, and providing tools for sustainable development. On top of that, federations have to navigate the implications for services to members, and representations towards governments and society.
